What Happens at Your Viewing?

We recommend exploring as many venues as you can before deciding, because your wedding venue sets the tone for your whole day.

If you think we could be the right fit, book a 45-minute appointment with one of our experienced wedding coordinators.

We’ll walk you through the venue, point out the details that matter, and talk through what’s most important to you, so you can leave with a clear sense of whether we’re the venue for your love story.

Before You Visit

  • Bring your rough guest numbers, date ideas, and any must-haves.
  • Note down your questions on pricing, accommodation, or ceremony options.
  • Feel free to bring parents or wedding party members along.
  • Ask us about availability for your preferred date while you’re with us.

How to Book Your Viewing

Booking a viewing takes just a couple of minutes.

Choose a date and time that suits you, and immediately book your appointment. The wedding coordinators are on hand meanwhile to answer any early questions by phone or email.

Book a Viewing - FAQs

Of course. We’d love to show you around. You can book a private viewing with one of our wedding coordinators, which takes around 45 minutes, or come to one of our open days. You’ll see the Pavilion, all our barns, the Moat House and the guest bedrooms, and you can ask anything you like.

Everything. We’ll walk you through the day as it would happen: the Moat House where you’ll get ready, the Pavilion and Fathom Barn for your ceremony, the Heritage Barn for drinks, the Tithe Barn for your wedding breakfast and evening, and the guest bedrooms. Along the way, your coordinator will explain how the day flows and answer any questions.

Yes, of course. Parents, family and friends are very welcome at your viewing, so bring whoever you’d like to share it with. Just let us know how many of you are coming when you book.

Yes, as often as you like. Whether you want to talk through plans with us, show the venue to family, or bring your photographer, florist or stylist to see the space, you’re always welcome. Please book an appointment in advance, so we can make sure the venue is free and a member of our team is available to look after you.

You don’t need to prepare anything, but these will help you get the most out of your visit:

  • A few preferred dates or months, including some midweek or Sunday options
  • A rough idea of your guest numbers, for the day and the evening
  • The style of wedding you’re imagining, whether that’s traditional, relaxed, twilight or festival-style
  • Anything that’s essential to your day, so we can confirm we can do it
  • Comfortable shoes, because we’ll be walking around the grounds

Call us on 01634 222244 or email office@coolingcastlebarn.com. It helps if you tell us your preferred date or month, your approximate guest numbers and the style of wedding you have in mind. If your date is booked, we’ll suggest nearby dates. Midweek and Sunday dates often have more availability and cost less.

  1. Check availability and come for a viewing.
  2. We reserve your date and send you your Terms of Service. We’ll hold the date for a set period while you decide.
  3. Sign online and pay the £1,000 non-refundable deposit, plus £60 for the registrars if you’re having a civil ceremony here.
  4. Your confirmation info arrives within 5 to 10 days.

Yes, your own dog is very welcome. We love it when dogs are part of the day. Your dog can join you for your ceremony and in the Heritage Barn for drinks and photographs, as long as a named person is responsible for them throughout. Dogs can’t join the wedding breakfast, so please arrange for your dog to be collected or looked after before you sit down to eat. Unfortunately, we can’t allow guests to bring their dogs. Assistance dogs are always welcome.
