Our Story
Cooling Castle Barn began in 1995, when Paul and Julie, a local couple from the village of Cooling, saw the potential in a neglected tithing barn. With three young children and full-time jobs, they put their time, energy and vision into turning it into a wedding venue.
In the early days, Paul and Julie ran every wedding themselves. They reinvested every penny into restoring, improving and expanding the barn. Their care and attention to detail soon earned them a reputation, and the number of weddings grew year after year.
Their children grew up helping at the barn whenever they weren’t at school. Their daughter Rebecca later returned to help run the business, carrying on her parents’ commitment to hard work and to looking after every couple properly.
Over 30 years of weddings
More than three decades on, Cooling Castle Barn is still family-run. It is still known for its warm atmosphere, beautiful grounds and careful attention to detail. Every wedding here is exclusive use, so on your day the barns, gardens and grounds are yours alone.

Our team
Our wedding coordinators look after you from your first viewing to the end of your wedding day. You’ll deal with the same friendly faces throughout, and our team feels like family, to us and to the couples we work with.
