Toastmaster

Cooling Castle Barn include a Toastmaster in the price of our full wedding package because we always like to go that bit further to ensure that every function hosted by ourselves is the very best it can be.

A toastmaster at a wedding adds just that little extra touch to the day. The concept of a Toastmaster as merely a loud voice who bangs a gavel and makes a few announcements is completely inaccurate- even though those announcements are often the only visible signs to indicate his presence. He is an expert in procedure and etiquette and adds dignity to each and every occasion.

The toastmaster will arrive at the venue in good time to meet and greet guests as they arrive, he will show them into the Heritage Barn, explain the format of the day, show them where they can refresh themselves and generally make them feel special and very welcome.

We feel that it is important for the Bride and Groom to spend time with their guests prior to the meal being served. The toastmaster will assist the photographer and the video operator to ensure that they are able to capture the very important record of the day, but at the same time he will be monitoring the time so that the Bride and Groom can relax and mingle with their guests prior to dinner.

When the meal is ready to be served the Toastmaster will escort all guests into the Tithe Barn and ensure they are all at their allocated places before announcing the Bride and Groom into the wedding breakfast and escorting them to the top table.

He will then be on hand to reassure and help any nervous speakers before the celebratory toast, he will familiarise them with the microphone and then finally he will in turn introduce each of the speakers to the guests.

After the meal the toastmaster will escort the Bride and Groom from the top table and hand over to the expert services of our D.J who will welcome the evening guests to the barn and gradually increase the tempo of the evening party, starting with the first dance of the Bride and Groom.
